Surface Water

Among the tasks of this section are:

• the collection, processing and analyzing of the surface water data (water level, discharge, water quality and sediment transport);
• expansion and maintenance of the surface water station network
• the publication of an annual hydrological bulletin
• updating and maintenance of the hydrological database
• research on hydrological phenomena

There are currently twenty seven (27) surface water stations of which sixteen (16) monitor water levels continuously via water level recorders. Fourteen of these stations have Hydromet personnel at location who monitor the activities at the station and report to the office as necessary.
