Agrometeorology Section

Agrometeorological Section was established to provide weather services in the aid of food production and food security in Guyana. Services include generating agro meteorological products in aid of farming, land management, selection of improved varieties of plant and breed of animals that are adaptable to different climatological conditions and climate variability. There are two agrometeorological stations. One is located at Mon Repos and the other is located Ebini This Section is still in its infancy stage and currently works concurrently with the Climatological Section to meet some of its objectives. Currently this Section is involved in producing a monthly weather bulletin for farmers and regular agrometeorological advisories are done on telephone.
