Severe Weather Advisory
- Soils across many areas are already saturated due to continuous rainfall, and forecast conditions indicate additional rainfall in the coming days. This is expected to increase the likelihood and severity of flooding, particularly in low-lying, flood-prone, and poorly drained areas. Existing flooding across Hinterland Guyana is also expected to persist and may worsen where significant rainfall occurs. Residents in hilly and elevated areas should remain alert, as heavy downpours may trigger localized landslides or mudslides. In areas experiencing thundershowers, strong wind gusts, frequent lightning strikes, and intense rainfall can be expected. Persons are advised to remain vigilant and take all necessary precautions to safeguard life and property.
